A fresh face in the local music scene, Cellar Door combines deep industry roots with a passion for re-imagining popular music. Rather than simply playing “covers,” we offer unique “versions” of recognizable hits from the 1960s to the 2000s, blending nostalgia with originality.
Meet the Band:
∙ Will Poston (Guitar/Vocals): With years of experience in the music industry, Will brings a unique mix of talent and creativity to the group. Offstage, he’s a contributing writer for the Carbon County News and a wine wizard at a local bistro which serves “Miles” of wine.
∙ Jennifer Coutts (Piano/Vocals): Jenn is recovering nicely after a stint as a public school music instructor which has shaped her skillful, dynamic performances. A seasoned musician, she’s played with several local bands, adding depth and versatility to Cellar Door’s sound.
∙ Matt Benacquista (Bass): A lifelong musician, Matt’s grooves anchor the band’s sound. When he’s not with Cellar Door, he’s a member of the popular Red Lodge bluegrass ensemble, The Grizzly Peak Pickers. (He also claims to be an astrophysicist, though we’ve yet to see him defy gravity in any significant way.)
∙ Steve Chechet (Drums): Hailing from the wilds of Detroit in the ‘50s and ‘60s, Steve brings energy and rhythm to the band. His experiences performing wildly diverse musical styles enhance his drumming, but his wit and humility (which he proudly boasts about) are invaluable to the group’s chemistry.
